Story, idea, design, etc were all considered when picking and voting for the winners!
~demonsaintdante with his fabulous entry !
*DKDevil wrote - "This original character design, based on various mythologies, provides both an impressive figure and an imposing presence. We feel that this character is not only important in this theoretical game, but also important within it's lore."
Prize: 10$ from our awesome and fearless leader `Pyritie
*GrantPAdams with his fabulous entry !!
`technographer wrote - "rott has always been great at coming up with quirky concepts, both in their visual style and their background stories; this is no exception. Designs in games should make you want to play those games, and this does just that for me. There's a sort of retro essence to it as well: the execution is creative but the idea is not fundamentally complex, an angry tornado demon who's messing everything up - it feels like it belongs in a game, not to mention the embodiment (literally) of the theme 'wind'."
*DKDevil wrote - "...it is definitely well executed. I particularly enjoy the echoed theme thanks to the windmill on the boss. "
`Pyritie wrote - "a great design!"
^PolyMune wrote - "is a very awesome idea of a boss character for a game! Really simple but accurate colouring style, and awesome concept design, this guy stood out above the rest for me It definitely brings to mind flash rpg, or even stylized 3d rpg game and I loved how unique and personality filled he is! Idea was great and well drawn out. The artist definitely put a lot of thought and work into it! The quality is great! really bringing to mind you don't need a crazy detailed piece for it to 'stand out'. Awesome detail in such few shades! Story that goes along with it is strong and believable. "
Prize: 20$ from one of our top admin's and awesome guy *DKDevil
~ThePineapplePirate fabulous entry and musicial score !!!
*DKDevil wrote - "This beautiful melody reminds me of a small windswept village out on the plains. I know its unrelated to the solid backstory *ThePineapplePirate came up with, but it really is nice to listen to, within a peaceful context of course"
`technographer wrote - "Listening to this felt just like the soundtrack to a whimsical cutscene to a game, or perhaps the intro movie before the title screen, and reading the description revealed that was just the intention. The song is great quality and feels uniquely game-oriented; it gets me excited to go on some kind of fantastical adventure on the high seas or among the clouds - there's definitely something airy about it. The music and the description are wonderful in their own rights, together they certainly rate for me as a winning combo."
`Pyritie wrote - "The right music can instantly add so much to a game, and *ThePineapplePirate pulled off an amazing feeling of windiness that can hold its own even without any graphics."
^PolyMune wrote - "was a really well done musical piece in my opinion. I feel that when creating game-art a lot of people forget about the music, which is a major portion of video games! Every game has some form of sound effect or musical score, and if they don't then they are horribly missing something. It's also hard to find talented musicians/composers to make the pieces, and are always on the look out for new ones! With that said, The idea I found for this was really solid. Completely original and different from the rest, it takes guts to make a musical piece for contests in general. Not a lot accept them either! The artist put a lot of thought into each musical note, and composed a piece that best reflected wind in his/her opinion. Quality is top notch for sure, and definitely feels like what the artist described the song to be, what their intentions were! It starts off soft, then builds up into an uplifting piece! I can definitely picture myself surfing the skies and riding the winds to this musical piece! Although a little short, it definitely fufills it's purpose! Finally, the story was really interesting and matched the music well! Very detailed and definitely explained a possible game setting."
Prize: a 4x5 Bamboo pen tablet!!! from the awesome ^PolyMune

`Pyritie wrote - "it has a great design!!"
`technographer wrote - "It's immediately apparent that a lot of effort was put into making this relevant to the theme, through-and-through. One look at Vetera and you know what the key ideas of the game would be based around - wings, a cloudy helmet, a winged gun that makes feathery blasts, and all of it blowing in the wind! Her story of realizing her conflict, entering a quest to find a sacred item (which she actually already had at one point), and attempting to avert her doom feels applicable to drive the events in a game. I also like that she is not portrayed as the generic 'hero of the game', but as a person as flawed and confused as any of us, out on a journey for her own advantage."
^PolyMune wrote - "is a great concept piece of a character for maybe a 3rd person shooter/rpg/stylized game. The artist put a lot of thought and detail into this main character, and creating them are hard in general. A main character needs to 'stand out'. Her design and story are excellent. It even looks like promotional concept work, like you'd see for one of the many free games like Sheya or Ragnarok online.
Idea is really neat, a main character for a game called 'win-d' creative and well executed of the theme. The logo is really stylistic and original as well!
Quality is very very detailed and the character looks awesome. The pose isn't fancy but it doesn't have to be! Really awesome colour choices. Shows the artist's time and dedication. Story is detailed and thought out."
`Pyritie wrote - "I really like game worlds with loads of backstory and characters built around that, rather than the other way around, and ~Edarneor's concept shows exactly that!"
